Welcome to Aviation Cinemaking

Hello there,

     I've been working in the film industry in various roles for the past 18 years.  I usually work in the camera or lighting departments, but I've had experience in everything from PA-ing in my youth to working with the special effects supervisor from Apocalypse Now.  I've worked on everything from national commercial spots to feature films (with some not-so-small industrial videos mixed in).  Along the way I have always had a deep interest in all things aerospace, with a good dose of history. 

    In 2001 I started production on my first documentary film The Restorers.  In 2004 I began my next film Red Tail Reborn, the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and the folks who strive to tell their story.  These are some notes about what it takes to eek out a living doing this, and to create something watchable at the same time.
